Packaging for export: lessons from a thousand shipments

October 22, 2026 Admin 1 min read

Most cargo damage we see is not caused by careless handling. It is caused by packaging designed for a warehouse floor, not for a vessel, a crane and three transfers.

Design for the worst leg of the journey

Assume your carton will be stacked, compressed and exposed to condensation. Use double-wall corrugation for export cartons, edge protectors on pallets, and moisture barriers for goods that travel through humid corridors.

Label twice, photograph once

Apply shipping marks to two faces of every carton and keep photographs of the packed cargo. Clear marks speed up handling and give you evidence for insurance claims if something goes wrong.
