Booking & quotes
How do I get a shipping quote?
Send us the origin, destination, cargo dimensions, weight and preferred transit time through the contact form. Most quotes are returned the same business day, itemised with freight, duties estimate and handling.
How long does international shipping take?
Air freight typically takes 2–7 days door-to-door, sea freight 18–38 days depending on the lane and sailing schedule, and U.S. domestic road freight 2–9 days. Your quote always states a transit range, not just a hopeful number.
Can you handle customs clearance?
Yes. Our licensed brokerage team manages HTS classification, duty calculation, ISF filing, documentation and inspection coordination in the United States and through vetted partners at destination.
Where do you ship?
We arrange worldwide shipping solutions across Europe, Asia, Australia and Oceania, North America and South America. Coverage on a specific lane is confirmed in writing with your quotation.
How do I track my shipment?
Every shipment receives a unique BlueWave reference. Enter that reference on the Track Shipment page to see status, scans and the estimated arrival.
Is my cargo insured?
Cargo insurance is available on every lane and quoted per shipment value in U.S. dollars. We strongly recommend it for high-value goods and can advise on adequate cover.
What items can't I ship?
Prohibited and controlled goods vary by destination. Common exclusions include undeclared hazardous materials, certain batteries, live animals without a licensed handler and counterfeit goods. Send us your commodity and we will confirm what documentation is required.
Do you work with small businesses?
Absolutely. We regularly ship first orders for e-commerce sellers and scale into consolidated or full-container programs as volumes grow.
Customs & documentation
Which documents do I need for customs clearance?
A commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill and, where applicable, a certificate of origin and import permits. Regulated goods may need product certificates. We send a tailored checklist with every quote.
Who is responsible for duties and taxes?
Duties and taxes are payable by the importer of record. We calculate and show estimated duties in your quote, and can arrange payment on your behalf where agreed in writing.
Can you clear goods before the vessel arrives?
In most cases, yes. We lodge declarations ahead of arrival wherever the destination allows pre-clearance, which can meaningfully reduce terminal time.
Tracking & delivery
How often is tracking updated?
Status updates appear at each milestone scan: cargo received, departure, transshipment, arrival, customs and delivery. Transit legs without scans show the last confirmed event and the next expected one.
Can someone else receive my cargo?
Yes, if the receiver is named on the booking or you authorize an alternative in writing. Proof of delivery is captured and shared with you.
Claims & insurance
Is my shipment automatically insured?
Carrier liability is limited by convention and is not the same as insurance. We recommend all-risk cargo insurance for high-value or fragile goods and can quote it against your declared value.
What do I do if cargo arrives damaged?
Photograph the packaging and contents before moving anything, note the damage on the delivery receipt and contact us within 24 hours. We will open a claim with the carrier or insurer and manage the file for you.
